Trump Threatens to Close Down Social Media Platforms After Twitter ...

Throwing hay in to the fire raging across USA, President of United States again hits the headlines with threatening the Social Media Platforms to Shutdown. Reason for this event is Twitter has appended two of Trump’s twits with Fact –check labels posted few days back.  He has signed an Executive order aimed at removing some of the legal protection given to social media calming that these firms have “unchecked power” to censure and edit the view of the user interacting with the posts.

Mr. Trump has accused the company of election interference after twitter added a warning label to the tweet he posted regarding the mail-in ballots also known as postal votes. Twitter and other social media platforms are strongly denying this executive order with twitter hiding one of trumps tweet promoting glorifying the violence posted violating rules.  These posts lead to another page debunking Trump’s claims which is known as his old time enemies, The Washington post and CNN.

With given no time he tweets back: “Twitter is completely stifling free speech, and I, as President will not allow it to happen”

saying in adding in his two part tweet: “Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election. They are saying my statement on Mail-IN Ballots, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is incorrect, based on fact-checking by Fake News CNN and the Amazon Washington Post….”

Trump execute this order on the grounds of Communications Act 1996 Section 230, Communications decency act in Internet legislation  but Many social media tycoons has responded  for this such as YouTube made a statement to BBC

Facebook’s Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said on Fox News  on  Wednesday, being a censorship concerning country censoring a Social Media is not the “right reflex”  adding further Mark said

 “I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online,”

The long-running quarrel of Trump and Social media again has flared with this Fat: checker warning incident and the statement he made on Tuesday threatening to regulate of the Social media platform polices, condemning all the orders Co-Founder and CEO of twitter Jack Dorsey responded with series of  Twitter posts saying :

“Fact check: there is someone ultimately accountable for our actions as a company, and that’s me. Please leave our employees out of this. We’ll continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally. And we will admit to and own any mistakes we make.”
